The ‘Where are you from?’ cartoon has been used in the South Korean text book Citizens and Social Participation, published by Mabook Publishing Company, Incheon, South Korea. Here is the text book with its companion book Citizens and Social Justice. Well illustrated, great looking books.
Independence Educational Publishers UK publish Issues, a series of resource books, now containing over 70 titles, covering a variety of subjects, used primarily by librarians and teachers to help their students gain a better understanding of the world around them and the issues which affect their lives. Kunmanara is a book published by the Department for Education, Government of South Australia, for use in schools in the APY (Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara) Lands in the remote north west of South Australia. There are Pitjantjatjara and Yakunytjatjara language versions.
Teaching by Numbers, an illustration for the article in the latest Australian Education Union Journal (South Australia branch). ‘An increasing number of politicians and education consultancy businesses believe that knowledge can be broken down into discrete parts, standardised for easy consumption, routinised to ensure consistency and subsequently measured through predefined forms of assessment.’

Six new books in the series have just been published: Poverty, Body image, Animal rights, Racism, Ageing and Understanding sexual health. Listening and scribbling at the University of NSW, Learning and Teaching forum – Learning without limits: leading the change, virtual forum, 19 & 20 November. Some of the cartoons here, and you can see all of the cartoons drawn and posted during the forum on the Padlet .
Out of the blue, A virtual journey through resilience, reimagining and recovery for higher education in the new coronavirus distorted world. A few of the cartoons recording the CAULLT (Council of Australasian University Leaders in Learning and Teaching) virtual conference, 12 & 13 November – disruption, adaption, the value of AI and re-assessing assessment.
Mining company Rio Tinto’s destruction of the Juukan Caves in the Hamersley Range, Western Australia, provoked Parry Agius of Linking Futures to develop a series of images targeting investors in mining companies. The aim is to encourage investors to consider indigenous heritage sites as libraries of knowledge, history and humanity spanning thousands of years and appeal to their moral judgement in reassessing their investment. The Juukan Caves site showed evidence of 47,000 years of human occupation. Other sites across the country show evidence of up to 60,000 years. Here are some of the images:
