Cartoon for the article by Emma Lowe in the Australian Education Union Journal (AEU) SA,“Your country preschool needs you”. The South Australian Education Department is ‘amalgamating’ country preschools with junior primary classes as a budget saving. The result is that many preschools cease to exist. “This is not about the delivery of quality early childhood education…Where is the sound pedagogical evidence?”
Artwork for signs at Bowman Park, near Crystal Brook, South Australia. The park is becoming more popular, especially with RV travellers. The signs aim to alert campers to environmental issues: controlling pets, avoiding the spreading weeds, and in particular, discourage the gathering wood for campfires. Trees, logs and fallen branches are habitat for lizards, birds and insects. Areas in the park are being left bare from the camp fire wood gathering.
