The second last ever Pro Bono news cartoon. Inspired by ideas in Neil Pharaoh’s final post for ‘the media outlet that has shaped political discourse, mobilised the sector in times of need, and provided guidance to all of us across the many areas of social purpose leadership.’

Today’s post election Pro Bono news cartoon.

The newly elected Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has promised that the Labor government will commit “in full” to the Uluru Statement from the Heart, which since 2017, has been calling for a First Nations voice to parliament enshrined in the constitution. To assert his voice, setting out a plan of action on the Statement, Parry Agius proposed a series of social media posts leading up to last Saturday’s federal election. We worked together on these cartoons to illustrate Parry’s thoughts.

This week’s Pro Bono news cartoon. Last year’s amendments to the federal government’s political campaigners bill restricts the advocacy role of charities and not-for-profits, the ‘requirements are onerous and stifle the voices of community groups’ (read more here). It appeared to be a double standard when the CEO of Guide Dogs Victoria appeared in election campaign material for the federal treasurer, below (and read here).

The ruling Liberal National Party LNP ( a conservative coalition) has little understanding of just what the future is challenging us with… Cartoon ideas on a range of issues for the next Australian Socialist journal.
