Independence Educational publishers UK produce Issues a series of high quality cross-curricular resource books for secondary school students. Six new books in the series have just been published: Poverty, Body image, Animal rights, Racism, Ageing and Understanding sexual health. Each book includes a number of cartoon illustrations by cartoonists Angelo Madrid and myself. Some examples of my illustrations are shown below.

.id Consulting have been blogging about population demographics and economics for the past decade. ‘The goal of our blog was – and remains – to share our expertise and passion … as part of our wider mission to contribute to the good society by helping organisations make informed decisions.’ Most of the blog posts have had a cartoon comment. Brian Lim and his small team at Wise Networking have been innovating an air-deployable mobile cell network solution – a miniature mobile phone tower that can be air dropped into a disaster area to quickly restore mobile coverage. Each miniature tower sits within its ‘Gyrochute’ which gently drops the tower to the ground. Read the full story featured in this month’s International Fire Fighter Magazine, pages 84-86, and watch the prototype Gyrochute in action here. These are some of the drawings to help explain the concept and its potential.
